YouTube testing new video progress bar on Android

San Francisco, January 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) Video-sharing platform YouTube is reportedly testing a more subtle video progress bar that doesn’t always appear red on Android.

9To5Google reports that some Android devices, including Incognito, are showing a new white progress bar.

This only applies to dark themes and appears to be an effort to keep YouTube’s user interface (UI) unobtrusive.

Enabling the dark theme while a user is passively watching a video replaces the normal red color of the platform’s progress bar with white or gray, the report states.

Meanwhile, the video-sharing platform announced a new update in October that splits video content on all channel pages into three tabs: shorts, live streams, and long-form videos.

This update will make it easier for viewers to find the types of content they’re most interested in when exploring creators’ channel pages.
