Cleveland — It feels like spring on January 3rd, but you should also be prepared for fog and heavy rain. Let’s talk about timing and totals.
Alert: Dense Fog Advisory for Medina, Summit, Portage, Richland, Ashland, Wayne, Stark, and Holmes counties until 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Poor visibility can make travel dangerous, so be careful on the roads tonight. Visibility in heavy fog is expected to be only 1/4 to 0.5 miles. If you drive, slow down, use your headlights, and maintain a safe following distance.

A region of low pressure over the Plains lifts a warm front over northeastern Ohio tonight. A warm front will temporarily return temperatures to the 60s on Tuesday and Wednesday. A cold front will drag the area eastward by Wednesday afternoon as the low pressure system slides toward the Midwest. A cold front will bring temperatures down Thursday through the weekend. The entire system will also bring widespread rain on Tuesday.

Fog will be the biggest problem Monday night. After midnight, isolated showers will begin to increase from the south. By 5am it looks like the rain will be widespread. Moderate to heavy rain is possible. Rain is most likely early Tuesday, but showers are possible in the afternoon. More rain is possible Tuesday night through Wednesday as the cold front approaches. Temperatures will drop into the high 50s to 40s by Thursday and continue to drop into the 30s by Friday. Scroll through the Futurecast images to get an idea of the timing and extent of the rain.

Widespread severe weather is not expected on Tuesday, but some strong storms are likely as the cold front slides in through Tuesday/Wednesday. can occur.
