The Spotify Stream On event for creators featured several announcements from the music streaming company, including a new TikTok-inspired homepage. Spotify’s current home page includes recently played music, playlist suggestions, and podcast suggestions, but the redesigned home page will feature algorithmically generated content that users will enjoy. A vertical scroll feed is displayed.
This feed puts a new emphasis on visuals not previously available in the Spotify app. This increases the incentives and possibilities for artists to release songs with music videos and visual effects to engage users on her mobile applications. Note that this feed may also show the most popular song and podcast clips, such as song choruses or interesting lines from podcasts.
