The LG Velvet will receive Android 13 in Q1 2023

LG keeps its promise to keep its latest devices up to date

It’s been almost two years since LG closed its smartphone business, but the company continues to keep its promise of keeping the latest Android phones up to date. This year, the company released his Android 12 to a handful of targeted devices, including the LG G8X ThinQ, LG V50 ThinQ, LG V60, LG Wing, and LG Velvet. The LG Wing and LG Velvet will also be eligible for his Android 13, so the company has announced plans for software updates next year.

In a recent post on the support forums, LG said it will deliver Android 13 to LG Velvet in Q1 2023. The software update plan doesn’t say when the LG Wing will receive the Android 13 update, but it says LG will release it. His Android security update for four devices (LG Wing, LG Q61, LG Q92 5G, LG Q52 5G) will be delivered in the next quarter.

This software release timeline only applies to LG’s home market in South Korea, so if you’re in another region, you’ll have to wait a little longer to receive the latest updates. Based on this year’s rollout schedule, LG plans to release the Android 13 update for LG Velvet in other regions in Q2. The LG Wing received the Android 12 update just a few months ago, so users may have to wait quite a while before he receives the Android 13 update.

Despite the long wait, it’s great to see LG keeping its promise and delivering Android platform upgrades and security updates to its devices. However, Android 13 could be the last major update from his OEM, and users will have to rely on custom ROMs if they wish to upgrade to his Android releases in the future.
