Tech layoffs continue, while fast food hiring ramps up


(KERO) — IBM said it would cut 3,900 jobs and software company SAP said it would cut 3,000 jobs.

But layoffs are going beyond the tech sector.

Materials science company DOW says it is laying off 2,000 employees worldwide.

3M also announced that it will cut more than 2,000 manufacturing jobs.

Hasbro joins by announcing plans to reduce its global workforce by approximately 15%. The toy and entertainment company said it will begin cutting about 1,000 positions in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, restaurant chains are hiring. Chipotle said it is looking for 15,000 people to staff its stores for the spring. Taco bell has 25,000 job openings on his website, and Starbucks says he’s looking for over 10,000 baristas.
