it’s official. Samsung will hold his first Unpacked event of 2023 on his February 1st. Starts at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET.
This will be an in-person event, but it will also be live-streamed, just like Samsung has done in the past. Even before the pandemic. This means that we may get some surprises as Samsung will finally return the media face-to-face. This is usually when companies want to show off new products — not just new iterative smartphones. In my final unboxing, I got the Galaxy Z Flip, which was a bit of a surprise.
So far we know we’ll be getting the Galaxy S23 at the event, but as expected it’s leaked quite a bit – there were rumors that the Galaxy S23 would go up in price. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the Galaxy S22 remained priced the same last year amid chip shortages and heavy inflation.
The good news for this year’s Galaxy S23 is that it’s going all-in on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Rumor has it that Samsung will stick with Snapdragon worldwide with this phone instead of using its own Exynos chipset. , some people in Europe and Asia will be pleased.
You can pre-order the Galaxy S23 now
The Galaxy S23 can actually be pre-ordered until February 1st, as Samsung has done for the past few years. When you sign up for a reservation on Samsung.com or the Shop Samsung app, you are eligible to receive one of two offers:
- Get $50 in Samsung credits when you pre-order 1 device.
- Get $100 in Samsung credit when you pre-order 2 devices.
As usual, there is no commitment to customers here. So you don’t have to pre-order the Galaxy S23 and actually pre-order or buy the Galaxy S23.
Samsung also reminds everyone that Samsung.com has the highest trade-in value for Galaxy devices. Which should be the case since it is their device.
