Samsung phones are some of the best Android phones available. Especially when you look at the premium products the company offers. It is often seen as feature rich and no compromises. But the company also seems to understand that it will have to go all out to take Apple’s head. As such, Samsung may shift to a strategy of keeping its phones competitive and strong in 2023, rather than spending more resources on cost cutting. This could lead to the best Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup.
According to South Korean news outlet Hankyung (via SamMobile), Samsung Electronics vice chairman Han Jong-hee has reportedly ordered the company to come up with ways to become more competitive “without being obsessed with cutting costs.” Samsung’s flagship smartphones are already as uncompromising as Samsung’s phones. The Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with top-notch build quality, ridiculously strong specs and a crazy camera, but the company has also paid a lot of attention to the Galaxy A range for companies like Xiaomi and Realme and the budget market. In a way, Samsung is trying to play both sides here.
Perhaps the most uncertain part of this strategy concerns the impact on traditional budget phones, like some models in the hugely popular Galaxy A lineup. Will a greater focus permeate here and add to the prestige of this series, or will we actually see less and less of these models produced in the years to come? should finally be good news. Because that means the company’s already great smartphone just got even better.
The company reportedly plans to ditch its Exynos chipset in 2023 in favor of Qualcomm’s higher-performance Snapdragon silicon. This could be one way Samsung stops focusing on cutting costs. The Galaxy S23 lineup is also expected to include a more consistent design and changes such as a 200MP camera for the Ultra.
