Bosch presented its “RideCare” comprehensive security camera at CES 2023 in Las Vegas. The camera is mounted on the vehicle’s windshield and gets power from the vehicle’s lighter slot. RideCare has both front and rear cameras, so it captures road and interior safety footage. This can provide a level of safety and security for both riders and drivers in rideshare situations.
RideCare comes with a wireless SOS button that drivers can place wherever they want. When pressed, RideCare automatically contacts Bosch emergency services, giving Bosch direct access to the camera’s video feed. This, combined with GPS location and timestamping, gives emergency responders a full range of capabilities to assist drivers in potentially dangerous situations, such as contacting a nearby police dispatch line.
