Red Magic 8 Pro, Nubia’s New Android Gaming Phone, Has An Official Release Date

A brand new Android gaming phone, the Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro hit the market on December 26th and officially made headlines with its second-generation Snapdragon 8 processor.

According to what we know so far, the phone will rock a Full HD OLED screen at just under 7 inches. The Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro could be the first gaming phone to feature his 2nd generation Snapdragon 8 chipset. This is expected to significantly improve processing power.

gaming is a priority

The camera also sounds pretty attractive, with a triple-lens setup and the main lens offering 50MP. The photo is clearly not what the phone is here for, but it’s not too shabby.

Nubia’s Red Magic series has always been completely unapologetic about its target audience. These phones are for gaming and their functions are optimized to provide the best graphics processing power.

The previous model, the Red Magic 7, showcases some of Nubia’s proud specs. A quick check on their official website will give you some ideas.

The current model boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, a 960Hz touch sampling rate, and a host of cooling features to keep the phone from turning into an electric hand warmer during long sessions.

Other Snapdragon 8 options

It seems that Nubia is not the only one. It looks like the Nubia Z50 will also have his 2nd generation Snapdragon 8 along with a 64MP camera.

The screen is a little small, and the Z50s have a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera that interrupts the display a bit. The Red Magic 8 Pro’s camera is under glass and the display is perfect.

The Z50 launches in China on December 23rd, so if you’re not into some of the gaming features and the screen isn’t a deal-breaker, it might be worth a look.
