Brighton-based design studio Gomi has released a series of recycled plastic portable speakers called ‘Collection One’. The idea of this collection is to introduce consumers to the benefits of recycling their waste. Tom Meades, co-founder and chief design officer at Gomi, said of the speaker:
The collection includes Bluetooth speakers made from waste plastic, which have 50% less CO2 emissions than other speakers. The collection also includes his three colorways (Panther, Avalanche, and Ultraviolet) for consumers to choose from. Each speaker is handcrafted and powered by a full-range neodymium driver with a bass radiator. What’s more, this speaker utilizes a reusable lithium battery recycled from old e-bikes, and a 2-hour charge gives him over 30 hours of use. The speaker is available for $299 in GBP.
