However, by focusing on making this a gaming device rather than a phone, Razer was able to pack impressive hardware under the Edge 5G’s 6.8-inch display. The Edge 5G runs on his latest Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 SoC processor optimized for gaming devices. It also comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which should be more than enough considering this is going to be a cloud gaming device.The 5,000 mAh battery is a welcome sign, but there’s no info on fast-charging speeds.
The 6.8-inch display itself is also pretty impressive. It’s a 2400 x 1080 AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The resolution is on par with top-tier mobile phones, but the 144Hz refresh rate is something gamers won’t find on their smartphones.
The problem is the price. The Razer Edge is priced at $359.99 on Verizon’s Device Payments Finance, or $599.99 retail starting January 26th. You can get it for just $179.99 if you pair it with a new 5G smartphone and use Device Payment Finance, but you might need it anyway. You have to pay for an additional 5G data line to use your device.
