The open beta update gives Phone (1) users early access to the latest Android OS, i.e. Android 13. Users can test the functionality of her OS and share feedback if they notice any bugs or issues. Also read – ColorOS 13: These Oppo phones will get the latest Android 13-based update in December
That being said, the beta update is for testers, and the much-anticipated stable update is due out next year. Looking at the pace of the beta update timeline, stable is not far off.
However, the exact release date is still unknown. It is scheduled to be released in early 2023.
In related news, Carl Pei recently confirmed that the phone (2) won’t be out anytime soon, and the brand will focus on updating the phone (1). This is good news for Phone (1) users, but bad news for those interested in more Nothing products.
Phone (1) specifications
Nothing Phone (1) was launched globally and in India earlier this year. The back of the smartphone comes with a unique design. Equipped with a 6.55-inch display with FHD+ resolution. This is an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
As for the camera, it features a dual camera system with a 50MP main lens and a 50MP ultra wide angle lens. On the front is a 16MP selfie shooter.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, it combines up to 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of internal storage.
Equipped with a 4,500mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. It didn’t work with Qualcomm to bring wireless charging and reverse wireless charging to the phone. Supports 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.
