Mobile home community displaced due to flooding


SAN MATEO, Calif. (KRON) – Residents of the Belmont Mobile Home community are still dealing with the aftermath of the New Year’s Eve storm.

Heavy rains on New Year’s Eve caused massive flooding in San Mateo County. At the nearby Belmont Trailer Park, the water he reached four feet high and flooded several houses.

“Residents have been away from their homes for nearly a week. When they tried to enter their homes, they found there was water inside and mold. It was really hard to live in,” said Barbara Wood, an American Red Cross volunteer.

Red Cross shelters in the San Mateo County Fairgrounds are available to residents of the mobile home community. “We provide them with a dry, warm and safe place to sleep. said Wood.
