Meta (formerly Facebook) and Microsoft are abandoning their Seattle and Bellevue office facilities in Washington, USA. The decision comes just days after Twitter made comparable spending cuts amid uncertain macroeconomic conditions. Facebook’s parent company Meta has confirmed plans to sublease its facilities in Bellevue and downtown Seattle. Facebook’s headquarters are located in Menlo Park, California.
Microsoft will not extend the lease on Bellevue’s 26-story City Center Plaza, according to reports. The contract expires in June 2024. Microsoft is headquartered in Redmond, Washington.

The report also highlights that Microsoft and Meta are closing their offices. This is because many employees prefer remote work arrangements. But the global economic downturn is putting pressure on both digital giants. In November 2022, Mehta laid off her 11,000 worldwide. His 726 employees at the company’s Seattle branch have retired. Microsoft, on the other hand, has not made widespread job cuts, despite taking steps to contain costs. Microsoft will stop hiring some positions in July 2022 to reduce costs.
Along with Microsoft and Meta, Twitter is cutting costs by closing offices around the world. Additionally, social networking businesses have been sued for failing to pay rent.

According to the landlord, Twitter is said to be renting Rs 1.12 crore. . To save money, Twitter will also close its offices in Delhi and Mumbai.
Interestingly, Twitter owner Elon Musk prefers in-person work to virtual employment. However, given the circumstances, his staff are now required to work remotely.
