Maruti Suzuki is rolling out a software update for the new generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno. This update brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support to the hatchback’s 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system. Available for top-spec Zeta and Alpha variants of the Baleno hatchback, rolling out as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity bring turn-by-turn navigation to the heads-up display and MID in the instrument cluster.
If you recall, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno was launched in February of this year. The 2022 Baleno will debut with a new tech-savvy avatar aimed at new age groups and younger buyers. Equipped with first-in-segment functions such as head-up display, Suzuki Connect, and 360-degree view camera. A heads-up display provides all the driving you need right in front of the rider to avoid distractions. A 360-degree view camera is useful in congested areas and helps with parking.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is equipped with an Advanced KSeries Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine that delivers 113Nm @ 4400rpm of torque and 66kW @ 6000rpm of peak power. Baleno claims 22.35 km/l for the manual transmission variant and 22.94 km/l for the AGS variant. The 2022 Baleno offers a 5-speed manual and an improved Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) transmission.
On the safety side, the hatchback has a number of security features, including six airbags and anti-hill control. The 2022 Baleno gets a wider front grille with Suzuki logos, DRL taillights and aluminum wheel branding.
The starting price of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is ¥65,000 rupees (former showroom). There are four variants: sigma, delta, zeta and alpha.Top model cost ¥94,900 rupees (former showroom). The hatchback competes with the Toyota Granza.
Maruti Suzuki has introduced a similar update to the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. It is speculated that the company may introduce it to the Maruti Suzuki XL6 as well.
