MOBILLE, Alabama (WKRG) — Mobile Police officials have released information about the vehicle chase that resulted in the death of a man.
34-year-old Joseph Pritchett was killed when he lost control of his car and crashed into a home on Staunton Road, officials said.
Officials said officers were in the Somerville and Wagner Street neighborhoods when they saw the suspicious vehicle traveling at very high speed. When police officers tried to pull the vehicle over the driver, Pritchett refused to do so.The chase ended when Pritchett lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Two other people in the car, a 13-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man, were taken to hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening. There were two people inside the home that had been beaten. Only one person was injured, and officials said those injuries were minor.
The incident occurred at 8:40 pm on Sunday, January 15th.
