Instagram is taking inspiration from Twitter with Notes

Instagram is for sharing photos and videos, it’s not just a platform for sharing text. However, the platform seems to want to change that. After testing for a while, Instagram finally rolled out Notes.

All social media platforms have a text element, but when it comes to Instagram, you have to attach a photo or video. it doesn’t matter. of Photo and video platform. However, that doesn’t mean that some Instagram users just want to share quick updates with their followers.

There’s a way they do this and that’s by posting stories.

However, Instagram Notes truncated the middleman

This news comes straight from Meta. Instagram is starting to roll out the Notes feature to the public. This will allow you to post short text-based status updates to your profile. Instagram seems to be taking “notes” from several different social media platforms. First, it has a character limit, which is pretty restrictive. There are 60 characters to get your thoughts going. If you thought Twitter had a strict character limit, you’d find it difficult to use Instagram.

There’s also a bit of Snapchat influence, as notes disappear after 24 hours. So it’s not meant to be a complete replacement for something like Twitter or Facebook. This is primarily so that people can provide “a lightweight and easy way to share their thoughts and start conversations.”

Notes can contain a combination of text and emoji, and replies to notes are delivered via DM. If you don’t see this feature yet, don’t worry. The company is still rolling this out and it will eventually arrive on your phone. In the meantime, make sure your Instagram app is fully up to date.
