Indian woman robbed at Madrid’s hotel stranded in Spain


Madrid/New Delhi, January 28: An Indian woman has been stranded in a foreign country without a passport after robbers allegedly robbed her of all her belongings at the Hilton Hotel, one of the most famous hotels in Madrid, Spain.

The victim, identified as Jasmeet Kaur, 49, from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, was robbed while on a business trip to Madrid.

In a video message on social media, she shared her plight and talked about her unfortunate event.

She claimed: I have been pillaring to post a complaint but the authorities are ignoring it.The Indian Embassy in Spain has been waiting for my complaint for days. I ran out of cash. I don’t know what to do now. Despite submitting her FIR to the nearest police station in Madrid, so far no action has been taken against the culprit. The robber beat me, pushed me down and robbed me of my bag in his area of ​​the hotel lobby. Hotel authorities can’t help me. I have also stayed at this hotel in the past and never had anything like that. I lost all my important belongings, including my passport. ”

Kaur said he had lodged a complaint with another Indian diplomat in Spain, but claimed no remediation had been made.

She said, “Women are not safe anywhere in the world. I ask the Indian Foreign Minister Dr Jaishankar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indian Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi and other authorities to help me in this situation. I want to go back to India. Please help me.”

In a complaint to Madrid police, she wrote that while she was inside a hotel with guests, men took her belongings, including her passport, and fled.
