- TECNO has released concept images of its foldable and rotary mobile phones.
- This phone looks like a mashup of the Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Z Flip, and a rotatable phone that has never been widely released.
- TECNO has no plans to make this phone, but it would be great if they could.
At this point, foldable phones are becoming pretty common, thanks in large part to Samsung. We’ve also seen rollable phones make their way into early review stages without ever being widely commercially released. What happens when you mix these concepts?
Smartphone company TECNO has imagined what a foldable, swivel phone could look like. You can see renderings of this fictional device in the video above and the image below.
Basically, the concept phone looks like a very slim and super-smart Galaxy Z Fold device. This small display is used for notifications, camera control, etc.
When you open the foldable, you can roll out the left side of the screen for even more screen capacity. It’s very similar to what we’ve seen on the Oppo X 2021. This is the most advanced rollable phone in its release cycle so far.
Obviously this is just a concept, but it also looks very unrealistic. The rear camera module is level with the body of the ultra-thin device. This is basically impossible with modern high-end hardware. It takes engineering marvels to mash phone concepts together.
Still, it’s fun to see and imagine what future smartphones could do.
