What are the steps to take before your Android goes missing?
When an Android owner purchases a new device, the first thing to do is install the Find My Device app. This app is designed to help you find your lost Android and lock it until you retrieve it, so no one can access your private information. Some of the features of this app are:
See your phone on a map or, if your current location is unavailable, see your last known location Use indoor maps to locate your device inside airports, shopping malls, or other large buildings You can find it by tapping the location of your device to navigate to it on Google Maps, then the map icon Play sound at maximum volume even when device is in silent mode Use custom message and contact number on lock screen to erase or lock your device Check network and battery status Check hardware details.

What if Android is not found?
If you lose your Android, there are a few steps you can take to find and lock or erase your device before it falls into the wrong hands. To do these things, that Android phone needs to:
turn on
Open your device’s Settings app
Tap safety, Find your device

How to Find, Lock, or Erase an Android Phone Remotely
1. Go to android.com/find and sign in to your Google account.
2. You will receive a notification on your lost phone. Information about the location of the phone is displayed on the map.
3. Then you can enable lock and erase.
