A bug plaguing the new iPhone 14 Pro Max can mysteriously freeze the phone, rendering the device unusable.

Many users have reported this issue and it seems to occur when users charge their phones, transfer data from their previous phone, or connect to WiFi.

The problem has been occurring even though Apple has rolled out several iOS updates since the iPhone 14 Pro Max launched last September.

One user told DailyMail.com how his phone froze while charging overnight and died, meaning the alarm didn’t go off. In the morning she had to wake her husband and hail a taxi so that she would be late for work.

Many frustrated smartphone owners have expressed similar frustrations on social media and on Apple’s official forums, saying they’ve never had this problem with previous models.

One user wrote on Apple’s website: I’ve tried clicking the volume +/- and power button sequence to no avail.

“Doing a quick online search reveals that others have experienced this issue and [sic] Some Apple bugs. I’m not really sure what to do other than go to the Apple store and wipe and reinstall the OS. How frustrating.

There have also been reports of the handset freezing during use.

One iPhone 14 Pro Max user wrote: I couldn’t even reboot the phone for 2 hours as it sat on the screen to “slide to reboot”. It’s frustrating and I don’t know what to do.”

Another user described a recurring issue that Apple Store employees were unable to fix:

“For example, I realized it must have something to do with my iPhone losing internet connectivity (whether it’s Wi-Fi or cellular) because I can’t open my mail and read my mail. Repeat to make the Mail app all white.

On social media, users describe their devices freezing when they open applications or trigger notifications.

Twitter user Penny Henderson tweeted, “iPhone 14 pro max, worst phone I’ve owned, has glitches and apps freeze daily. I think I’ll ask for a refund! Apple It’s not ready for sale, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Mac and iOS YouTuber Aaron Zollo said earlier this month: We hope to see major bug fixes soon. I hear this more every day.

Mobile phone expert Steven Athwal of The Big Phone Store tells DailyMail.com that there have been many reports of iPhones freezing, but there’s an easy fix.

“Apple’s latest phone model, the iPhone 14, didn’t get off to a good start with users reporting an issue where the phone would freeze all the time,” Athwal said.

“If your iPhone freezes, we recommend trying a ‘hard restart’. This is to manually power off the phone and then power it back on by holding down a certain button.

“Start by pressing and releasing the volume up button and doing the same with the volume down button.
