Google Meet is marketed as a business platform, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add fun features to it. Currently, the company is working on introducing new features to its mobile app. Google Meet will soon add 360 degree backgrounds to its Android and iOS apps.
That’s not the only fun new feature coming to Google Meet. The company also announced a new in-meeting reaction feature. This will allow people to add post emoji reactions using meetings. The meeting slides to the left side of the window for other members to see. This feature will start rolling out on January 16th.
Google Meet brings 360-degree backgrounds
At this time, Google Meet already has a selection of backgrounds and effects available to users. These add a fun atmosphere to the meeting. With so many people forced to work from home, you might be having a little fun.
Google is taking it to the next step. Google Meet provides 360 degree backgrounds. These are 360 degree photos that rotate when you move your phone. They help add another dimension of realism to your effects. You shouldn’t expect to make anyone think you’re having a meeting in outer space, but it’s still a nice addition.
We don’t yet know how many of these 360 degree backgrounds will be displayed. Currently, all we know is Oasis. To know the others, we’ll have to wait for it to start.
As for the launch, we don’t have an exact date. According to 9To5Google, the feature will be officially released in the coming weeks. So at the latest he can expect an early February release. Make sure your app is fully updated.
