Google has updated numbers for the number of devices using Google TV or Android TV.
The company used CES to announce that 150 million devices are powered by Android TV OS, the underlying platform that runs both Android TV and Google TV.
The numbers show solid growth from 110 million active users announced 12 months ago to 40 million, aided by Google’s Chromecast and TVs made by TCL. Previously, TCL supplied TVs with Roku OS.
150 million devices include phones and set-top boxes. This means that some users may have multiple devices.
Google is currently moving from Android TV to Google TV with more manufacturers expected to come on board.
