China-based smartphone brand HONOR, formerly a subsidiary of Huawei, has launched its first foldable smartphone, the HONOR Magic VS. The device is expected to compete with flagship products such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, offering a similar design at a lower price point.

HONOR Magic VS features a 7.9-inch built-in foldable display with 2480 x 2200 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Folds down to reveal a 6.45-inch cover display with a resolution of 2700 x 1160 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

The HONOR Magic VS also boasts impressive cameras, including a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with optical zoom, and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the back. Up front, there’s a dual selfie camera system with a 32-megapixel main camera and an infrared depth sensor for facial recognition.

The HONOR Magic VS runs Android 11 and comes with HONOR’s exclusive Magic UI skin on top. It supports Google services and apps, which is notable given that Huawei devices are currently not authorized to use Google services.The phone also supports wireless and reverse wireless charging for other devices. doing.

The HONOR Magic VS is priced at €1,499 (approximately $1,700) for the base model and €1,699 (approximately $1,900) for the top model. It will be available in selected markets in Europe and Asia from March.
