Galaxy S10 Lite owners in the U.S. still await Android 13, even after its latest update

New firmware has arrived for the Galaxy S10 Lite in the US, but Android 13 is nowhere to be found.

Samsung, the world’s largest handset maker, has many devices in its catalog. This means that there are many smartphones that need to be maintained for several years. For the average consumer, OS updates may not be a problem, but for tech-savvy consumers, getting the latest version of Android is a big deal.

For the most part, Samsung does a great job updating phones to Android 13. While most companies hold back or prioritize their latest flagship, Samsung is rolling out his One UI 5 update to many of its products. Some are several generations old. But not all devices are rolling out smoothly.

US users will still have to be patient as the handset is still stuck on Android 12 despite the new firmware version rolling out to the US Galaxy S10 Lite device. But it’s a little more impactful that the Galaxy S10 Lite has already received an Android 13 update in Spain.

Galaxy S10 Lite firmware, version G770U1UES6GVL2, provides numerous fixes and security patches starting with the December 2022 Android Security Update. If you own the correct model, you can download the update over-the-air (OTA) or download the update and install it manually. If you choose the manual route, be sure to back up any important information on your device.

As appealing as this phone may sound, unfortunately very few retailers actually sell this model new, and most only carry updated or refurbished units. Luckily, Samsung has other great smartphones in its current lineup, and these are some of the best Samsung smartphone options right now.
