Futuristic Bladeless Planes : jetopetra

JetPetro will create a revolutionary new plane capable of self-propelled at speeds of Mach 0.8 without the need for a propeller. The plane approaches flight from a fluid propulsion system, using a system that can send compressed air through the back-facing slits of the internal thrusters.

This also initiates what is known as the “Coander effect” where negative pressure is created to draw in ambient air within the thrusters. This can be arranged so that when the plane takes off the air is pressed against the ground and moves to propel the plane into a level flight position. CEO Andrei Evulet claims it’s also very quiet and that pedestrians can’t hear him unless he’s 200 feet away.
