Inner Cosmos introduces the new BCI, a brain-computer interface first announced last September. The neurotechnology company Digital Pill is a new brain implant designed to help treat depression using tiny electrical pulses when successfully inserted into a patient’s skull.
The digital pill, now in its second trial, is about the size of a dime and sends pulses to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex at 15-minute intervals. The pill also helps monitor nerve cell activity to understand how much stimulation a patient’s brain should be given. It is placed in the skull non-invasively.
