Comedian’s Take On Tech Layoffs By Amazon, Meta, Google, Twitter Is Sad Yet Funny


In her latest Instagram Reel, comedian Shraddha Jain (a.k.a. “Aiyyo Shraddha”) discusses layoffs that are widespread in the tech industry.

Taking on the role of a laid-off tech, she used sarcasm to criticize companies that let go of their employees despite making a profit.

Shraddha questioned the shift from “diversity and inclusion” to “adversity and exclusion” within HR, and from working from home to working for someone else.

She also argues that employees are like “family” and criticizes companies that let it go.

Her sharpest criticism is directed at companies that lay off employees despite making a profit. “We celebrated that the company had tripled its profits in a year, but after a month we were very poor. Who did the robbery?” she asks.

“I lost my job because the company’s investors weren’t sure if their investment would multiply by 400 in the next few years. How are we going to Mars!” She added, delving into Elon Musk, who laid off more than half of the company’s staff after it acquired Twitter in October 2022.

Using her humor to make serious claims has earned her thousands of views and accolades from like-minded people about the state of the tech industry.

Her videos went viral on social media and inspired BoAt founder Aman Gupta to offer her a job on Instagram.

Tech giants such as Google, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft recently mass layoffs Reduce costs and move to alternative AI such as Chat GPT.

Shraddha’s video also addresses this issue by explaining how artificial intelligence cannot replace human creativity and its ability to find creative solutions to most problems.
