Baidu has announced that it will launch an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot designed to rival OpenAI’s revolutionary ChatGPT bot. The new chatbot will be integrated into the search engine and offered as a standalone app. Baidu is using AI technology to increase its revenue streams, including investments in semiconductors, cloud computing and self-driving cars. Baidu hopes to use AI technology to expand its revenue stream and streamline its daily operations.
ChatGPT excels in more specialized skills like programming and essay writing, while Chinese chatbots like Baidu focus on social engagement. When consumers search on Baidu, it includes chatbot-generated results.
Baidu also recently announced three AI-powered “creators” to replace screenwriters, illustrators, animators and editors.
