The Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has announced a new standard for wireless charging called Qi2 at CES 2023.

“Consumers and retailers have told us they are confused about which devices are Qi certified and which devices claim to work with Qi but are not Qi certified. Qi2 will become the global standard for wireless charging, giving consumers and retailers that assurance. will provide.”
Apple is a member of the WPC, and Qi2 is built from MagSafe technology, which Apple has standardized on the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and iPhone 14 lineup.
