Thanks to Ookla for the latest report on mobile performance. The iPhone 14 Pro Max has some bad news.
Apple devices may have had the best download speeds in the past, but now they’re behind not just one, but two.
The news comes thanks to Ookla, which recently compared the major US mobile carriers in terms of downloads and uploads, as well as consistency and availability.
The device took the top spot in Q3 with a staggering score of 147 Mbps, while upload speeds of 17 Mbps were just recorded. Now, according to this survey, the tables have turned, as the once vanquished reigns supreme.
So who, if not Apple, took the crown this year? Well, it was 147 Mbps, so Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold4 phone took the top spot, so we can’t guess here. Second place is Google’s Pixel 7 Pro at 137 Mbps.
This iPhone device ranked third with a score of 133, while the iPhone 14 Pro was only 130 Mbps. Latency and upload speeds, on the other hand, were all very similar, but it was the Pixel 7 Pro that led the race with a whopping 15 Mbps in upload and an additional 50 ms in latency.
Other interesting facts to note involved Samsung devices achieving a good average download speed of 7 Mbps compared to all Apple devices.
In this study, one of the most interesting things the iPhone 14 Pro Max lost was that the highest download speeds seen on the Galaxy Z Fold4 won the race with the same performance observed on the 14 Pro Max. also sheds light on Q3.
We’ve seen the iPhone series run at faster speeds than both of these devices on Android, but what could be the reason? It may be due to it being in the hands of a client who lives in a slower location.
Whatever the reason, the stats are out. And the top carriers with the best performance speeds are certainly Apple, Google, and even Samsung.
