Apple TV+ service outage causing ‘content unavailable’ error on Apple TV, iPhone app goes offline

Apple TV+ is suffering extensive downtime tonight. The service seems to be down across the board on iOS devices and Macs. When you try to open the Apple TV app, you might see a longer-than-usual loading icon and go straight to the Library instead of Services.

A member of the 9to5Mac staff confirmed that this issue TV+ Tabs on Apple TV devices – I get a ‘content unavailable’ error message.

We have started receiving tweets from affected users, some claiming that the service has been down since 7:52 PM ET.

Apple’s System Status web page has both Apple TV+ channels and Apple TV+ marked yellow and problematic. Interestingly, so does the iTunes Store. The company has not yet acknowledged the problem. At this time, it is unknown when the service will go down. See the system status web page here.
