Software giant Microsoft has released beta support for Android 13 in Windows System for Android (WSA) for Windows 11. This announcement was made by Microsoft through a GitHub post. “Today, we are shipping an update to the Windows Subsystem for Android for Windows 11 for members of the Windows Subsystem for Android Preview Program. This update (2211.40000.7.0) updates the WSA to Android 13, Includes reliability and performance fixes,” the company said in a post.
Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) is an Android emulator released based on the Android 12 operating system. The latest update will allow Windows 11 users to run his Android applications on their laptops and computers. Please note that it is currently being tested in the Beta Channel against members of the Windows Subsystem of the Android Preview Program. Android Police reports that you need to be a Windows Insider to run his stable WSA version and a WSA Preview member to run this latest Android 13 beta.
Microsoft also partnered with Amazon to bring the Amazon App Store to the WSA. According to Microsoft, in addition to supporting Android 12 on Windows 11, the 2211.40000.7.0 update brings nine major changes.These include

– Added new command to shutdown WSA for automation
– Improved boot performance (50%, P10 case)
– Improved mouse click input
– Improved clipboard stability
– Improved application resizing
– Upgrade to Intel Bridge Technology for Android 13
– Improved reliability of opening media files in Windows
– Jumplist entries for applications that support app shortcuts
In other news, Microsoft recently revamped Skype with an enhanced loading experience and added new illustrations and animated emojis. The company has developed new performance and fixed bugs to improve user experience. “We’ve updated our theme colors since last year’s release and added additional color options, so you can now choose your favorite color for Skype light and dark themes. These beautiful new vibrant colors has become more prominent across our products,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
