LAS VEGAS – Amino has announced a long-term agreement with Xperi to supply Android TV certified set-top boxes to operator customers of Xperi’s TiVo Managed IPTV Service (formerly MobiTV).
As part of the deal, Amino will integrate certified Android TV operator-tier set-top boxes with the TiVo service to provide managed device replacement and support to North American customers.
TiVo Managed IPTV Service enables broadband and cable providers to cost-effectively deliver next-generation video services while offering competitive features and opportunities to deploy new video strategies.
Carriers can build services based on the Amino Amigo 7X Android TV set-top. It offers a sleek, compact device that offers access to linear channels and streaming apps.
This integrated solution is backed by Amino Engage, Amino’s SaaS platform for centralized device management, and award-winning customer support and maintenance services.
“TiVo Managed IPTV service continues to be a popular option for Tier II and III operators due to its full-featured end-to-end capabilities. It makes sense to integrate the 7X set-top to give operators the best possible option,” said Donald McGarva, CEO of Amino Group. “Amino has been a trusted brand in the region for nearly 25 years, so we are pleased to expand our footprint in North America.”
The TiVo-Amigo 7x integrated solution is available to all existing customers and operators looking to meet today’s consumer demands through a cost-effective video platform. Amino’s managed devices and support provide a sustainable upgrade path to support the latest service features so operators can stay competitive.
